Honor Roll Policy

Honor roll is a recognition for academic work. Eligible students will be named after each marking period.  Students who make honor roll have their names proudly displayed outside the main office on the first floor.

For grades 1 through 5 the honor roll system is as follows:

First Honors Requirements:

• A’s in all major subjects (Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies)
• A’s and at most one B in all other subjects
• All 1’s in at most two 2’s in effort and behavior

Reading Instructional Level:
Must be at the following level or higher:

• Grade 3 – Level P or Higher
• Grade 2 – Level M or Higher
• Grade 1 – Level J or Higher

Writing:

• Grade 1 – Stage 6
• Grade 2 – 18-20 points
• Grade 3 – 18-20 points.

Second Honors Requirement

• A’s and B’s in all major subjects (Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies)
• A’s and B’s at most one C in all other subjects
• All 1’s and 2’s (no 3’s) in effort and behavior

Reading Instructional Level:
Must be at the following level or higher

• Grade 3 –  Level P or higher
• Grade 2 – Level M or higher
• Grade 1 –  Level J or higher

Writing

• Grade 1 – Stage 6
• Grade 2 – 15-17 points
• Grade 3 – 15-17 points
