Curricular Maps

A curriculum map is a guide that shows the scope and sequence of a curriculum across grade levels. Its purpose is to ensure that important knowledge and skills are taught. We believe the best curriculum maps include both the inputs (standards, knowledge and skills) and the outputs (long term transfers, enduring understandings, and desired accomplishments). Our staff has worked hard to develop curriculum maps based on PA Common Core Standards for literacy and mathematics for K – 5. Our curriculum maps contain long term transfer goals, PA Common Core Standards, enduring understandings, essential questions, and eligible content (essential knowledge and skills).

We use our curriculum maps to focus our teaching and learning on purposeful student transfer of discrete knowledge and skills.
